Bonding Begins

Hello again!

Today, I would like to bring up a special topic that is close to my heart, ‘brothers.’ To all Indians, you might know that today is Raksha Bandhan, a day for all the brothers out there.
For all other readers, this is a small dedication.

Even if you don’t have a brother, you may have a cousin or a brother figure in your life and with that,
I hope you enjoy this small piece.

I have always wanted an older brother. I guess I always thought about it because I already have a sister. Fortunately, I have two cousin brothers (Manoj and Athul) who represent this position for me.

I rarely get to see them as we don’t stay in the same region and being around only in the holidays makes me treasure the smallest moments we have together.

Especially today, as I spent time with Athul, I relived my wish once again.
Annoying him, playing cards with him, taking weird selfies with him, it was absolutely fun!

However, I missed my other brother on this day as he was away working hard on his job. We have a big age difference, therefore he and my sister being closer, I cherished today more.

Normally boys don’t like sharing sentiments or talking about feelings to show their strength but with brothers, that’s the difference, you do not feel alone and at the same time you get their perspective on anything and everything.

It’s said ‘Your brother is your first male friend in your life. No one will ever understand your craziness like your brother. Even if you don’t meet up all the time or talk as much as you wanted to, he always remains your friend. While people come and go in your life, your brother will always be in your heart for a lifetime.’

And on that note, I wish all the brothers out there, a happy raksha bandhan and a wonderful day.

I know that siblings rarely tell each other how much they mean, I’d like to dedicate this to
Manoj and Athul and I want you to know, I love you both.
